The Four Stages Of Female Arousal
The Four Stages Of Female Arousal

Did you know that there are four distinct phases of female arousal?
Research has shown that women move through a process of arousal, a stage of plateau, the orgasm and then a slow and gradual ‘come down’ to the pre-aroused state.
Here is what happens to the female body during sex & sexual arousal
Arousal
The arousal stage is all about blood flow. An increase in blood flow passes through the Vaginal walls where the blood vessels have already dilated, causing a natural fluid to flow (in preparation for penetration). This natural lubrication will occur to a lesser or greater degree depending on individual female. The very top of the vagina also expands.
The clitoris, labia and vaginal opening all begin to swell, which again is due to the increased blood flow. This increases sensitivity, which leads on to the next phase.
Blood pressure begins to rise and blood vessels dilate which can cause redness on the face and neck. Breathing increases and the heart really begins to pump.
Plateau
This is the point when things really start to happen. The blood flow reaches it’s maximum at the lower third of the Vagina, which causes the lower area to become very swollen and firm. It is at this point that the contractions leading to orgasm begin with regular movements that build towards climax.
The breasts can grow by as much as 25% at this stage and the nipples become firm and erect.
Although the labia becomes very swollen during both arousal and plateau the clitoris recedes against the pubic area and will seemingly disappear during this build up to climax.
The big O
Orgasm occurs as a massive (lets hope) release of tension that has built through the rhythmic contractions in the previous plateau stage.
After orgasm is where men and women tend to differ, whereby a woman’s recovery allows her to climax again if stimulated, leading to a multiple orgasm.
Unfortunately not all Plateau’s lead to the Orgasm stage and many women need the aid of a clitoral vibrator in order to maintain enough momentum to reach a natural release.
Resolution
It’s all over bar the shouting and breathing and heart rate slowly return to normal, unless you choose to keep things going!
