Review of The Jimmyjane Iconic Bullet
Review of The Jimmyjane Iconic Bullet

When notified that I was to review the Jimmyjane Iconic Bullet Vibrator I had a look at the Jimmyjane Iconic range, grouped together as the usual Suspects. I did feel an initial degree of scepticism relating to the sex toys as the concept could quite easily take a sex toy put a bow on it (metaphorically speaking) and double the price for the privilege! Being a big fan of the bullet vibrator and owning an impressive range the iconic clitoral vibe had to offer a lot more than my £5.99 Screaming O Bullet.
You choose any colour as long as it’s white and the packaging has a beauty counter feel, practical alongside their design-centric approach. It’s much like opening a box of clarin’s cosmetics with inner and outer card and lots of instructions and marketing material on the box – a quality feel rather than the extravagant opulence that envelopes a lot of designer sex toys. The Bullet looks small nestled inside and it takes a few minutes to free it from its shrink wrapped home (which is mildly reassuring).
The first difference that strikes you about the iconic bullet is the unusually soft material used. The bullet is a hard plastic but with an incredibly smooth silky feel. This isn’t like the velvet touch coating found on many vibes but rather like a polished ceramic with the warmer touch of a plastic. The ABS used feels like a lubricant has already been swirled on the surface and when I tried to use it with a water-based lube the vibrator whizzed out of my hand. I loved this feel and it certainly made the bullet stand out from the crowd.
For a few facts the material is phthalate free and the bullet is waterproof, as long as you screw the cap on tightly! Jimmy Jane provides a 1-year warranty, which is fabulous on a toy under £20.
To start the bullet you press the soft tip button on the end and it engages a very low vibration, press again for a strong vibration and again for a high powered vibration. The difference between the first press and second setting is enormous. I usually head straight for the highest power level on a bullet (if there is an option) and the Iconic vibrator took me by surprise. After settling on the top power level for a minute or two I pressed the button back around to the intermediate, which is as powerful as most top-level vibrator functions. The low setting also had its uses after orgasm by allowing me to enjoy the post tingle without it becoming too much sensation to bear. If you love a powerful clitoral vibrator I would strongly recommend the Iconic Bullet.
What didn’t I like as much? I prefer the shape of the RO80mm Bullet, which has a tapered tip. The fatter, cylindrical shape of the classic bullet never quite fits along my clitoris as well. This means that you have to readjust its position along the labia as you go which isn’t as convenient. The shorter body also escapes the fingers much easier than a longer shaft on a vibe. If you adopt a circular massage on the clitoris the bullet works it way down, eventually reaching your finger tips, whereby you have to re-establish your grip on the toy.
What did I adore? The material, which was pure quality, coupled with the power, which was immensely satisfying. I used the iconic bullet alone and during sex and it didn’t interrupt proceedings as all. This is in part due to the low noise level which even at the highest setting doesn’t make it a liability even with kids asleep next door.
PS: I didn’t use the bullet in the bath but washing a waterproof sex toy is so easy!
