Inflatable Dildo Review
Inflatable Dildo Review

The ‘ToyJoy Fat Boy Medium Inflatable Dong’ arrives in a rather jazzy green and black checked cardboard box bearing the ToyJoy logo and the legend ‘Pump Up The Volume’. The packaging certainly pulls no punches and, from the front photo, it is clear exactly what kind of toy awaits you inside. Once opened, the dildo is simply presented, wrapped in a clear plastic bag.
The inflatable dildo is ebony in colour and, with veins etched along the length and a curved moulded tip, makes an effort to look like a real penis – albeit a black latex one. There is no pretence of making this toy ‘pretty’, it is what it is, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It feels, for want of a better analogy, like a stress busting executive toy. In fact, I got a great deal of (fully-clothed) amusement from just squeezing it at various stages of inflation. The texture of the dildo's material is not at all unpleasant, though if you have a phobia of rubber bands, you may want to steer clear. Lubricant is a must for this sex toy as the latex can dry and cause friction issues. And, of course, given the nature of the material, it must be latex-safe lube that you use. The dildo (and attached tube/pump mechanism) is well constructed and expands/contracts without the material cracking or stretching thin. Although this toy is waterproof, insomuch as there are no electrical components to worry about damaging, care must be taken when washing to prevent water seeping inside where the tube meets the dildo.
I was surprised to find that the ToyJoy Inflatable Dildo actually has a very solid, hard component, around 6 inches in length, running through the centre of the shaft. It is around this that the latex body of the dildo inflates and expands – and expand it does! I ‘practised’ with this before playing with it for real as I wanted to get a feel for how much it would increase in size. I must admit I was slightly (but more than likely, unduly) concerned that if I didn’t figure out the toy’s limits it may pop inside me – needless to say, that didn’t happen! From a very unassuming start size, around which I could easily wrap (and overlap) my fingers, the toy increases to twice the width, the size of which, in a standard toy, would normally make many eyes water. Herein lies the selling point with this dildo – once inserted, it is pumped by hand to inflate, giving a superb sensation of fullness that was just as pleasurable as I’d hoped. This dildo is perfect for anyone wanting to experience this but without the potential difficulties of using a solid, non-yielding vibrator of similar size. Even when fully (or as fully as I dared) inflated the toy did not feel uncomfortable, as there is still a certain amount of give. This toy can be used as a ‘normal’ dildo once the desired size is achieved or it can be rhythmically inflated and deflated (with the release button on the pump) which, with practise, can pull off a delightful ‘pulsating’ effect.
As a dildo, there are, of course, no batteries required, making this kind of toy an excellent choice for those who want something that needs minimal preparation. No batteries also means no noise whatsoever, bar the practically inaudible hiss of the pump as the toy is inflated and deflated. This toy is not overly large but the trailing tube and pump means it can be a bit unwieldy. Not one for the handbag but definitely portable enough to fit in luggage or an under-bed toy box. The release valve mechanism means it can easily be returned to the initial size so, in a way, you are getting a far bigger dildo without the issue of the space it would take up. Purely for the novelty value and unusual sensations, this toy is worth investigating.
