Pumping Purple Thruster - A review by Kat

Packaged in a partly transparent pinky cardboard sleeve, this thruster rabbit measures just under 9 inches from the shaft base to the tip and boasts no less than 20 individual settings (10 for clitoral stimulation and 10 for vaginal stimulation) that can be combined to suit your own particular mood and needs.
Visually this toy is not significantly different to many other rabbit vibrators on the market but, personally, I like the purple colour and ‘typical’ size. The head is fashioned after a penis and the shaft is moulded with a number of small nodules to increase stimulation upon entry. Just below this, a ring of ball bearings rotate (under the skin of the toy) at varying speeds depending on the mode you have selected. Further down the shaft, the toy is formed into a concertina, giving the vibrator its ‘pumping’ up and down movement. After a bit of inspection and a debate with my boyfriend, I think the appendage for use on the clitoris is meant to be some kind of insect (possibly a locust) but what it lacks in good looks it makes up for in function.
With so many possible settings and combinations I was almost spoilt for choice; along with the basic ‘up and down’/ ‘faster and slower’ settings there is also the option of spinning the ring of ball bearings backwards and forwards at different frequencies. Activate the clitoral stimulator, which not only vibrates with varying speeds but with different intensities and to different patterns, and you have a quite intense and highly pleasurable mix. The size (shaft length and girth) is just right and, due to the range of functions and powerful, but not overly daunting, strength of vibration, I think this toy would be a great choice for beginners and sex toy aficionados alike.
The purple jelly-feel material is not unpleasant but can become sticky and cause friction without proper lubrication. With lubrication, however, its contours glide in beautifully. As with most rabbit vibrators, this toy takes 4 AA batteries that slot in with no trouble at all. The controls are compact and easy to use and you’ll soon find your favourite combination and, no doubt, have a great deal of fun in the process. The controls also contain tiny LED lights, which pulse in rhythm to the vibrations. I found this to be a well thought out feature as, along with the glow-in-the-dark buttons, it helps when operating in the dark or under the covers.
The noise level is not outrageous, perhaps the level of a modern electric toothbrush. It is by no means silent but, shut the bedroom door, and you’re unlikely to disturb other members of the house. At just under £55, the Purple Pumping Thruster is slightly above average for standard rabbit vibrators, but do not underestimate that pumping motion which most others lack. Not only does it increase the length of the shaft for a feeling of deeper penetration but it also allows the tip to bend and curve slightly to help reach the parts other sex toys cannot.
The only slight problem to be aware with when using this product is that if you are fingering your way through the settings and overshoot the last option, the motion will stop and you have to scroll through from the beginning to find your favourite again. Only a minor issue with an otherwise great toy and, after all, practise makes perfect!
