Sexual Lubricants
Sexual Lubricants

Sexual lubricants are associated with vaginal dryness and in the past have been a poor substitute for a woman’s natural lubrication. Lubricants are placed at the peripherals of a sex toy shop, an accessory to the erotic goods on offer but in reality modern day lubricants are a low cost way to improve your sex life and enhance sexual enjoyment.
Sex Lubricant by its very nature creates a slippery smoother surface which increases sensitivity to your skin. For certain times of the month or during the menopause the vagina produces less natural lubrication and a sex lube can be a necessary companion to intercourse or masturbation. It may be the case that sex is painful without a little extra lubrication and your favourite lube is always to hand in the bedside drawer.
Outside of its essential role a lubricant can feel spectacular massaged onto your clitoris or applied to a clitoral vibrator during masturbation. Lightly applied to a dildo can improve the tactile feeling of the material and smeared on the bunny ears of a rabbit vibrator can ease friction and improve sensation.
If you enjoy nipple stimulation tweaking with lube is mind blowing, whilst giving a hand job to your partner with a good squeeze of the slippery stuff will have him moaning for more. Use a massage oil/lube such as Durex Play for a sensual rub followed by a slip and slide
Water-based Lubricants
Similar to the natural fluid of the vagina, water based lubes are condom safe, non-staining and rarely irritate. Perfect for all sex toys and sexual intercourse with a quick and easy clean up. Water-based lubricants can be warming and flavoured.
If your lubricant begins to dry mid use simply apply a few drops of saliva to reactivate the slippery qualities.
Silicone Lubricants
Super slippery lubricant ideal for longer lasting tasks and anal sex in particular.
If you are embarking on anal play use silicone based lubricant it will ensure maximum lubrication of the anal passage, which unlike the vagina doesn’t produce its own natural lubrication.
Silicone lubricant doesn’t break down in water making it ideal for sex in the tub or with waterproof sex toys. It’s harder to clean up but a good sex toy cleaner should take out the hard work. Never use with silicone toys.
Organic Lubricants
Of late there has been a surge of organic lubricants available which are paraben and glycerine free. Sliquid produce a warming, silicone and water based lubricants in organic versions for eco-friendly, body conscious options. If you are sensitive to glycerine or are prone to skin irritations or thrush use organic lubricant to safe guard against infection.
